Collection documents 19th and 20th century American architecture, also some earlier American architecture, and European architecture dating from the 16th century. Architectural drawings (approximately one-half of the collection), records of architectural firms, and papers of individual architects are included. Records and papers typically consist of correspondence; photographs of work in progress or completed work; manuscripts of articles, lectures, and other professional writings; and specifications, contracts, accounts and other documents associated with building.
